You can try making a new pool and label a media from the storage node to
this pool. 
In the pool definition, use the column Save Set and enter INDEX & BOOTSTRAP
there. It should save index & bootstrap to this pool now.

Is it possible to have the primary backup server's index get written to 
a storage node?

We have a tape library attached to the server. It writes its data to the 
storage node, but its index always gets written to the local tape 
drives. We'd prefer to use only storage nodes, no local tape library.
