In regard to: [Networker] Downgrading 7.3 > 7.2.1 - problems with nsrmmdbd,...:
After deciding that Networker 7.3 is fubar beyond belief, we decided to
downgrade to 7.2.1 again. However, 7.2.1 (the security patched version) now
crashes on startup while checking indexes. Is it possible that 7.3 has done
something with the indexes that makes us get stuck with a horrible and f**ked
product that is probably beyond repair?
To support separate retention for clones (one of the new features in 7.3),
the upgrade to 7.3 modified your media database.
Your only option to go back to 7.2.1 would be to perform a disaster
recovery procedure using a pre-7.3 bootstrap and mmrecov. You would of
course lose info on all savesets and volumes that have been modified since
you went to 7.3, but you could get some or all of it back using scanner.
I think your best bet at this point is to try get your 7.3 issues worked
out, rather than fall back.
