Hi,
try to restart your service networker backup server, then if still no success,
try to enter save -c backup-client in the "backup command of the client.

Subject: Unable to use backup cleints using Server Network Interface

Hi, I am attempting to configure my clients to use a backup lan (windows
clients and windows networker 7.2.1 server). I can ping the backup lan
IP address allocated to the networker server and the clients in both
directions. I can telnet to the port 7938 using the backup lan ip
addresses.

I have configured the host file on the networker server to contain the
backup lan IP addresses and the backup hostname (backup-client1 rather
than client1). I have configured the host file on the clients to contain
the backup lan IP addresses and the backup hostname (backup-client1
rather than client1). I have also configured the hosts files to contain
the backup lan IP address and hostname for the networker server.

I have edited the client (original hostname) and entered the alias of
the backup hostname. I have edited the field Server Network Interface
and put in the backup-lan hostname. I have made the servers file on each
client and server empty and restarted the services.

I receive the following error message on test backups: RPC error:
Program not registered. Cannot access nsr server 'clientname'

Any suggestion please!

Regards, mark

Resolved - in the server network interface I put the backup-lan hostname
of the client rather than the backup-lan hostname of the networker
server.

Avery has freeware you can download to generate any type of label that
they produce. I've been using it for years for DLT and LTO tapes.
Barcode labels are pretty simple. For the price of a box of labels,
you too can make your own. And, if you want to see what you can do
before buying labels, just download their software and practice with
regular paper.

For LTO3 and an HP MSL6000, I'm using Avery 6577 labels and the LTO
Barcode software from http://www.jdtools.ca/
