[Networker] RE : [Networker] Advance File Type question

Hello,
 
Well, your setup is not wrong : with actual AdvFile technology, you can
issue MULTIPLE WRITE but only ONE READ a time to an AdvFile device.
 
As cloning is a read and a write, as staging is a read and a write, 
If you clone or stage your AdvFile device to physical tape device,
you cannot recover a SSID still staged on an AdvFile.
You will have to wait for the end of the clone/staging (normal or killed) cmd
or till the SSID to be staged to phyical tape and physical tape to be
idle.
 
NetWorker 7.3 (in end-beta) would allow Multiple READ and Multiple WRITE
from/to a same AdvFile device.

Good morning to all,


We are currently using DBO and setup our device as advance file type so that we 
can restore while cloning data to tapes. We are successful in restoring 
data/files from the 'Read Only' device while cloning, but not sure if this is a 
problem or just a configuration issue, we are not able to do multiple restores 
using this device. It keeps on saying 'device is busy' and waits till the first 
one/restore is done, before it starts reading again.


Our environment:
Legato NetWorker v7.1.3 on Red Hat Linux ES3
