Yes,

I had once done a lot of testing on SQL restores.

You can restore all SQL databases that would include master & msdb.

What is it that you actually are facing problems with?

I simply installed MS SQL (same version & SP), installed Legato client & SQL
module, restored all the databases. It works smooth.

database ???

Hello dear fellow networkers,

according to the manual it looks like if the procedure was trivial:

To recover the SQL Server, do the following:
1. Reinstall the operating system.
2. Reinstall the NetWorker software.
* If the computer that failed was the NetWorker server, reinstall the
NetWorker server software.
* If the computer that failed was a NetWorker client, reinstall the
NetWorker client software.
3. Recover or reinstall the SQL Server software. To determine if you need to
reinstall the SQL Server software, see "When to Reinstall SQL Server" on
page 124.
4. Start SQL Server.
5. Use the replace option to restore the SQL Server master database and the
msdb database.
Note: To run steps 5 and 6 as a single operation from the command line,
enter the following:
nsrsqlrc -s... -f MSSQL:
Note: To use the NetWorker User for SQL Server to complete steps 5 and
6, see "How to Use the NetWorker User for SQL Server Program to
Complete a Disaster Recovery" on page 130.
If running SQL Server 7.0, the model and the distribution databases may
need to be restored.
6. Restore the other SQL application databases.

Has anybody of you experiences with recovering the master db of SQL Server
by the networker module for sqlserver?

     Freundliche Grüße / Kind regards
