[Networker] ndmp recover: saved on netapp filer AA, to be recoverd on netapp filer BB
2005-11-04 07:44:26
Hello dear fellow networkers,
I'm trying a ndmp recover from networker backup server CC. The branch of files
was backuped from a netapp filer AA and should be on netapp filer BB. The
manual says for the normal recover which allows interactive mode
-c client
Client is the name of the machine that saved the files.
When browsing a directory that was saved by another
client, the pathnames will reflect the file tree of the
client that saved the files. By default save and
recover determine the client name from the filesystem
table. This option might be necessary if the -L option
was used on the save command. This option cannot be
used in conjunction with the -S ssid option (save set
recover mode).
-R recover-target
Specifies the name of the remote machine to direct the
recovery. This is used in conjunction with the -c
option to specify browsing of another client's index.
When the -R option is used, either the -f or the -i
option must also be specified in order to instruct the
recover target what to do when it is recovering exist-
ing files. Note that the values 'N', 'Y', and 'R' are
the only valid ones to use with the -i option for
directed recovers. Note also that the -a option is not
supported with the -R option.
The command I tried is:
sun4us-CC(root) # recover -i R -R BB -c AA
[...]
Fordere 1 Datei(en) an, dies kann eine Weile dauern...
nsrndmp_recover: Verwende CC als Server fuer AA
Direct Retrieval.
Connecting to the NDMP data server successfully.
Open the tape device : nrst0a
NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: " - cannot create directory: Invalid argument
nsrndmp_recover does not allow an interactive mode, there need to be a
different path specified for the recover, e.g.
source filer: /vol/AA1/AA2/AA3/AA4/AA5/AA6
destination filer: /vol/BB1/BB2/BB3/BB4/BB5/BB6/BB7/BB8
Has anyone of you experiences or suggestions how to get the desired recover?
Freundliche Grüße / Kind regards
Roman Böhm
