We make a copy our valid /etc/init.d/networker script to
/etc/init.d/networker.PERM. This means when we upgrade networker and it
overwrites the script, we just copy the PERM file back over the top. Just a
thought....

/etc/profile is much better.
/etc/init.d/networker can be overwritten after patching or upgrading Networker.
