Has anyone had any experience with running a storage node on 64-bit x64 (opteron) versions of linux? As I understand it, there's currently only 32-bit binaries out for linux of networker, but I guess that shouldn't be a problem? Are there any other issues with running a storage node on linux in general? Currently we're running our main backup server on solaris sparc, but we're planning to add a storage node running x64 linux on HP hardware, since the price/performance gain is significant. Also, we hope to reduce the problem with high kernel CPU utilization when network throughput is high, as discussed in previous threads. :) But that's another story..

So, in short, are there any pitfalls/gotchas that one should be aware of before installing? If it matters, we're planning on using the SuSE distribution, since I can't stand Red Hat.
