You have to define relevant environment variables. see below the tech note.

Solution Title: Error: 'nsrnotesrc: Notes Library Initialization Failed:
error=273'
Solution ID: legato14385
Here is the solution:
Typical Variable and Path statements to set in the .profile (or the shell
executing NML commands) and the backup command script, nsrnote.
Ensure the following variables are set:
LOTUSARCH=sunspa or ibmpow or sunspa or linux or hppa as appropriate
Notes_ExecDirectory=/opt/lotus/notes/latest/$LOTUSARCH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/lotus/notes/latest/$LOTUSARCH (Solaris, Linux, HP)
LIBPATH=/opt/lotus/notes/latest/$LOTUSARCH (AIX)
LOTUSUSER=notes [Set to actual Lotus Notes user name]
PATH=$PATH:/opt/lotus:/opt/lotus/bin::/opt/lotus/notes/latest/$LOTUSARCH:/opt/lotus/notes/latest/$LOTUSARCH/res/<LOCALE>:/<NOTES_DATA_DIRECTORY>:</NETWORKER_BIN>
Make sure variables are exported, i.e.
export PATH Notes_ExecDirectory LD_LIBRARY_PATH LOTUSARCH LOTUSUSER
