Both are Networker 7.1 Everything else is working just find. The only
difference, this is a workstations and it is several buildings away.
Everything else that is backed up is on the same subnet and in the
same
building running windows server. They seem to get about half way
and then
they time out. Below is the message I get back.
* dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil:C:\ 1 retry attempted
* dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil:C:\ save: RPC error: Unable to send
* dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil:C:\ save: save failed on C:

Settings\alan.c.skinner\Desktop\win_x86\networkr\Program
Files\Legato\nsr\bin\nsrck.exe
I have seen that kind of thing happen with backups of Windows servers
in at least three contexts.
First, make sure that reverse DNS between
dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil and your NetWorker
server works, and vise versa.
Next, make sure that dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil has no
restrictions on running any of
the NetWorker binaries.
Next, make sure the appropriate TCP/IP ports are open between the
server and client if a firewall
sits between them.
And finally, make sure the Networker service is running on
dixxwkcmd000100.nae.ds.army.mil. Actually,
this would be the first thing I would check.
