Here comes the funny part. When I run nsrck -v -m , it erases the faulty
save set entries from the database. Note that nsrck -v -m does not produce
*any* output. I can figure that erasing the entries is somewhat normal
since they are in some way faulty.

But when I put the tape and issue a scanner -m on the device, the
faulty save set entries appear again!!! Again, the save set recover cannot
determine to which tape they belong. So, perhaps this would seem that the save 
set
which is stored in the tape has some foundamental flaw.

The version is 6.0.Build.153 Turbo/20...
