Firstly, I'd like to thank all who responded showing interest in our VMware
ESX server backup module, and Stan for letting us make this announcement.
Due to that response, we've decided that we will release and are thus
running a beta to make sure it meets quality standards and expectations.
The core of the product we have been delivering for some time as a bespoke
Professional Service and we know it works. This beta is more around the
integration, which we've improved upon, and the documentation.
The product enables you to, effectively, snap running virtual machines on
an ESX server. Normally is you try to backup the virtual disks, ESX will not
let you. It is all done with a format that should be familiar to anyone who
has a NetWorker Module. i.e. a save set of VM: backs up ALL virtual
machines, and VM:<vm config file> backs up the defined virtual machine.
Licensing is done by the VMware license you have, not the number of CPU's
in the physical machine.
For those interested, the payback is that if you decide to purchase at the
end of the beta, then we will sell you the product at half price,
maintennance & support is included for the 1st year.
So, having said that, if you are interested, please contact me. Letting me
know what the ESX server license is that you have (no of CPU's), and when
you expect to install. I'll send you back an EULA for you to sign, and then
you will be on Beta. We will restrict Beta to 10 sites.
If you want more information before you agree to sign up, again, contact
me, and I'll send you a datasheet.
