To expand just a bit on Davina's thought, there are those who say LTO drives
should never need cleaning. A drive in an L-series library will cause the
jukebox to display "CLEAN NEEDED" in the front panel and on the Web display
when it detects that cleaning is required. That's what triggers the
automatic cleaning. If tapes aren't being used and you're not seeing the
message, then your drives don't need cleaning.
