I've been digging through the logs and have found some more details.

Appears all of the clients that randomly write to the Default pool are
virtual host from the same MS Cluster.

When a saveset goes to the Default pool it always get a Connection
Refused and then a error like below.

08/30/04 21:03:31 savegrp: command 'save -c nt1.nt.wfubmc.edu -s tapelib
-LL -m nt1.nt.wfubmc.edu -t 1093828572 -l incr -q -N T:\ T:\ ' for
client nt1.nt.wfubmc.edu exited with return code 9.

Can someone let me know what they have in their "backup command" field
of a virtual host in a MS cluster.

Thanks,

Joel

Hey Guys,

For some reason my server is intermittently deciding to use the Default
pool for some backups. From one night to the next, within the same
group which is setup to use a defined pool, it'll use the Default pool.
Anyone have any ideas? My client/groups/pools are setup like below.

Groups:

0000_B30DaysR30Days

            Clients: client1.wfubmc.edu

                        client2.wfubmc.edu

                        client3.wfubmc.edu

0000_B30DaysR1Year

            Clients: client1.wfubmc.edu

                        client2.wfubmc.edu

                        client3.wfubmc.edu

Pools:

OffsiteB30DaysR30Days

            Group: 0000_B30DaysR30Days

                        0100_B30DaysR30Days

                        0200_B30DaysR30Days

OffsiteB30DaysR1Year

            Group: 0000_B30DaysR1Year

                        0100_B30DaysR1Year

                        0200_B30DaysR1Year

So basically every thing in a group labeled xxxx_ B30DaysR30Days should
go to OffsiteB30DaysR30Days. This works across the board except on what
seem like random occasions when 1 client in a group decides it wants the
Default pool. I'm a little at a loss right now.

6.1.2

TIA,

Joel Fisher
