from sistina purchased by redhat apparently to be future part of kernel.
A locking multiple access filesystem for linux.
Never used it but from what Ive seen it should support normal unix
filesystem semantics.

Use mysqldump to disk and backup. look around for scripts on freshmeat
if needed to automate via cron.
