I'm not sure what you mean when you say that's the root directory. I
guess you mean that's the saveset target perhaps?

You're certain the directive is associated with the client instance that
is invoked during the backup?
/vol/vol0 looks a lot like a Netapp path. Are you doing an NDMP backup
or are you doing an NFS mount backup?
I don't think directives are honored by NDMP backups, and I don't think
that /vol/vol0 is a normal mount point for NFS backups.
If it's NFS, what's your mount point on the machine doing the backup?
