Good afternoon,
I already tried scanning even up to 5 drives (DLT 7000)simultaneously
to retrieve a the saveset of one of our big file server (370 Gb). When
the scanning is done, I get an error message 'broken or missing
savesets'. I think what scanner is trying to do is to 'link' all the
tape/media after scanning it and it is not able to recognize if part of
that saveset already exist or already scanned in.
When the 'scanner' is done, it will ask you to mount the next tape and
if that tape is being scanned on another tape drive you have to cancel
either one of the scanning operation.

regards,
Librado

Is there a way to simultaneously scan two tapes at once using the
scanner command? The jukebox we have has two tape drives and it is
able
to write to two tapes at the same time, so is it logical to think it
can
scan two tapes at once, or is this just wishful thinking? We're
running
Solaris 9, NW 6.1.Build.186. I am trying to restore a bunch of save
sets, of which, all but one are on one tape. My scanner command for
using one tape drive looks something like:

scanner -q -S <ssid> -S <ssid>.../dev/rmt/0cbn -x uasm -rv -m <mapped
directory>

Thanks for any help!
Mary-Charles
