Hi Deepak,

It seems that you are trying to configure it on a SAN based backup using
DDS. This error occurs when one of the storage nodes operating system
reserves the drive.

To break this reservation, manually load a tape in the drive. From the
storage node, issue the command - mt -f /dev/rmt/0cbn status.

This allows the storage node to read from the drive and release the
reservation.

On Solaris, set the ST_NO_RESERVE_RELEASE flag or check the st man page to
disable the use of reserve/release.

Am using the STK L80 with LTO Gen II drives and today when I labelled
fresh tapes and started the backup, it gave me following errors,

media warning /dev/rmt/0cbn opening : Permission Denied

Any pointers?
