Hi all,

We have a nw/as server pair which will have a Storage Node server
incorporated into it. We've had some initial hiccups though.

Setup:

  NW server is Solaris 8 (E-450), NW/Sun EBS 7.1.2,
     L700 /w 7 x DLT7000 drive, all direct SCSI to this system.
AlphaStor LCP/DCP installed and running (this is library
     control host).

  AS server is Solaris 8 (Netra 1125), AlphaStor 3.0 SP2 + hotfixes.
Complete install of AS, also have SN-level copy of 7.1.2 here for
     the sake of it.

The new Storage Node is Solaris 8 (V-880), NW/Sun EBS 7.1.2,
     3 x LTO-II (STK/HP), all direct-attatched & controlled by L700.
     AlphaStor DCP installed and running.

The problem:
Run Robot Config wizard to add drives to library config. Library
finds an LTO tape and puts in first drive. SN finds the drive, AS
adds it, and goes to eject the tape. The eject does not occur. AS at
that point freezes so I cancel. The eject runs by hand (via mt etc)
just fine.

What I've done so far since then:
  - STK will be visiting tomorrow to upgrade firmware on the LTO
drives as precaution, since they're old and possibly HP's desktop
model firmware.
  - SN system has NW and AS bin directories in path.
  - root@sn_server is in list of NW administrators.

Anything else before I try this again Saturday? I need this to go
through for Monday, this addition is severly needed.

Much Appreciated,
--TSK
