Thanks for the info. The server does have 4 cpu's and 4 gb's of memory.

That depends on what kind of drives you have and what kind of PCI adapters
you are using. The E450 has several PCI buses with different properties.
Look at http://docs.sun.com for more information about that hardware
platform. Remember to have plenty of CPU (like 4*400MHz) and RAM (at
least a gig or two) as well when you are doing heavy I/O.

So, check the specs for your drives and your adapters, and then compare it
with the specs of the server. See if you can balance PCI bus load. You
should probably be able to accomodate your I/O needs on an E450 if you
spread the load over the buses.
