Hi All,

Anybody know how an administrator can recover data from a volume written by
NetWorker w/o having to install/run NetWorker? I'm trying to come up w/ a
method using a volume written by NW 6.1.3 on Solaris 8. BTW, no BSM's were
used to write the tape originally.

We had a vendor request data and they said that they could support anything.
So we sent them an DLT8k written by Legato. Turns out they don't have Legato.

I thought this was possible using scanner/uasm but I've yet to find a method.

Scanner fails to operate unless it's able to contact a legato server.

Getting 'uasm' to read a tape is so far proving useless. I've tried using 'dd'
and 'tcopy' to work w/ uasm but so far unsuccessfully.

Thanks,
         /\/elson
