To be able to try and provide you some help you will need to provide
more information regarding the hardware configuration of your jukebox
and its connectivity to the storage node. This will have to reveal also
if any FC zoning has been implemented to avoid hosts interference with
the drives. Please also tell us more about removable storage services on
your server and storage nodes.
Also please note that Windows 2000 professions is NOT SUPPORTED as a
platform for the backup server!

we at EADS Space Transportation GmbH have set up Legato Networker 7.1.2
using the following configuration:
Server running Windows 2000 Professional, Legato Networker Server 7.1.2
Backup device: ADIC Scalar24 Jukebox
Clients / Storage Nodes:
1 client running Windows 2000 Professional
2 clients running Windows Server 2003
1 client running Solaris
all storage nodes running Legato Networker Client 7.1.2
There is one major problem: When a backup of a storage node reaches the
end
of the volume, it seems that writing the associated index information to
tape fails. The ADIC device hangs showing the status 'Writing', and the
only
way I found to work around is to switch off the ADIC device, switch it
on
again followed by booting the server. This procedure is of course not
the
preferred solution.
Has anybody in the Networker community experienced this behaviour? What
is
the cause of this failure and how to fix it?
The Networker daemon.log file contains the following lines:
