There might be a problem with 7.1.2 and the server parallelism when
using "savegroup parallelism".
You should contact Legato support to investigate your problem.

While I was away a colleague upgraded our Legato server (Solaris 9) to
7.1.2.  Now we're experiencing some very strange behavior.  There are
two savegroups for which I see continuously repeating lines in
daemon.log that the savegroups have completed.  Our savegroups run a
perl script on completion to send email notification and that script
does not appear to be running multiplre times as I am not seeing streams
of email messages.

 

Another behavior is that savegroups do not appear to be multiplexing but
rather running one at a time.  Does version 7.1.2 perhaps adhere more
strictly to the max number of sessions?  We have one server and one
storage node which should give us 92 concurrent sessions.  The devices
were set with target sessions such that the total of the target sessions
exceeded 92 but since we never actually had 96 savegroups running there
was never a problem.  I'm wondering if 7.1.2 is more strict and is
rebelling against target sessions which when added up exceed the server
parallelism setting.
