Networker Server 6.1.4
SunOS taygeta 5.8 Generic_108528-29 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4

Networker Client
Alpha DS20E
OpenVMS Alpha 7.2-1 patchlevel 3 (VMS721_UPDATE-V0300)

I had the previous version of the client (6.01B) running fine and noticed
an update available on the website (yes, I know...if it ain't broke don't
fix it).

$ @sys$startup:nsr$startup
%NSR-I-START, NetWorker Startup...
Parent: cannot start child: no such device or address
Daemon processes may not operate as expected.
%NSR-S-STARTED, Started nsrexecd, process id = 00000227

NSR$LOGS:NSREXECD.LOG reports following:

07/08/04 17:01:42 nsrexecd: select() error: host is down
07/08/04 17:01:42 nsrexecd: select() error: host is down
07/08/04 17:01:42 nsrexecd: select() error: host is down
07/08/04 17:01:42 nsrexecd: select() error: host is down

A user called NSR$EXECD exists and has the correct privileges.
Portmapper is running.
Loopback device is configured and responds to pings.
Network interface is configured and responds to pings (local and remote).

Any ideas?
