What do you mean by that?

You can query the database with 'mminfo'.
You can recover from a corrupted media database with 'mmrecov'.

The only place I see "scavenge" in the documentation is referring to
some synchronization beteen nsrck and nsrindexd, which shouldn't have
anything to do with the media database.
