George,

I think that the easiest way to solve this is the following. I'm noting it as
group Default, but it doesn't really matter the group name.

1. Group Default starts at 7pm. Backs up a few clients, one via the server to
the tapes in the server, one to the storage node. Finishes at 9pm.

2. Group default had automatic cloning set to clone to pool Default Clone.

3. Because the server has its clone storagenodes field set to "nsrserverhost",
it will clone to tapes in the changer attached to the server.

4. Because the storagenode has its clone storagenodes field set to
"storagenode" (or rather, the hostname of the storage node), it will clone to
the storage node. Since the source volumes are in that changer--which is *not*
attached to the server--then the "read hostname" setting does not apply, so the
source drive is mounted on the storage node.

Note that if the server was able to access the second changer via scsi (or
fibre channel), the read hostname parameter would apply.

The best description of these settings is via the Windows NetWorker Admin, but
in essense:
--read hostname: where tapes are mounted for restore, baring other more
relevent rules. Tends to count most when using a shared changer between server
and storage nodes. [Autochanger parameter, I believe]
--Storage Node: What storage node for a host to back up to. [Set per client
backing up]
--Clone Storage Node: What storage node for data to be cloned to. [Set per
*storage node*, not backup client].

**Note that the biggest issue with this is generally where the data is read
from, in cases where a changer is shared between systems, in which case the
autochanger readhostname parameter is key**

In essense, having the changer be remote actually simplifies this for you.
