Well, I couldn't wait for the replies this morning so I deleted and
re-configured the JB last night and the backups ran without problem.

I think Riaan hit the nail on the head in implying the reconfiguration
caused the drives to swap names. Windows 2K recognized that the drive had
been replaced and made the new drive \\.\Tape1 and by default I suppose the
drive that wasn't replaced became \\.\Tape0. We restrict tape pools to
specific devices so I had to do some tweaking there but we only have two
backup pools and two clone pools so it wasn't a problem.

In answer to Stan, we only replaced one drive. The reason was that since
the first of the year, every 2 or 3 weeks the backup clones would fail and
the drive would be put into Service Mode. The error message we were getting
was:

nsrclone: error, can not read record 148 of file 37 on 8mm AIT tape 010032

and in the 'messages' log we were seeing CRC error messages.

Each time it happened on a different tape and in a different location so I
figured it was a drive problem. So Spectralogic sent us a replacement drive
which we installed yesterday.

Thanks to all, Dave

Before you take that step, you should verify that you can write to each
tape drive from the operating system; not with NetWorker. Also, you did
not say anything about why the two tape drives were replaced. If there is
a problem still with the tape drives, replacing the jukebox entry will
probably accomplish nothing useful.
