You could also just apply the st patches for solaris 8. It doesn't
populate st.conf, but it should add LTO support into the driver itself.

Beware, you're using version 2 strings on those last two lines. I'm not
aware that Solaris 8 supports version 2 st strings. I suppose it might
with some of the st patches, though.
