If I'm not mistaken, this has been discussed on the list before. I think
it has to do with that some tapes were labeled with a 32k block size. And
when they are re-labeled, the block size information stays the same, even
if the block size of the device has been changed. I think the solution was
to manually wipe the tape which some utility which name I can't remember
right now. Damn garbage collectors who empty glass recycling containers at
6:30AM!
