There's an rsync port for windows somewhere. Well, not really, but it
uses the cygwin dll.

http://optics.ph.unimelb.edu.au/help/rsync/rsync_pc1.html

It's a better option than robocopy.

There's a pretty decent tool out there called securecopy. Pretty solid.
I can't recall if it does block or file level replication. You can find
it here: http://www.whitehatinc.com/w2ktools/securecopy/

I've never used the replication doohickey in Windows. I hope it's not
like the "briefcase" stuff they put in Win95, but it's probably worth a
shot...

None of these have support for open files (databases, etc.).

All Windows environment. It doesn't look like rsync has been ported to
windows.

These are just file servers and I am not interested in real time just
synching the directories every night.

Thanks,

Brian

Well, mirroring a live filesystem might mean different things to
different people. For instance if you have a database on it, you might
need the remote system to be in sync at a time when the database is in a
consistency mode.

You could always use 'rsync', but you have to be careful that updates on
the source system during the rsync may or may not be reflected on the
target.

If you're certain that there are no updates to the source filesystem
during the night, then it would be fine.
