Also if you are running Win2k3 it comes with a program called
"smtpmail.exe." So you can use this application to send mail via the
command line. Instead of using that ol' blat command :)

Yes, when we recently got a new e-mail server from the company that bought
us it wasn't set up to accept the smtp messages that blat sends. We had to
find an address on the corporate network that would accept smtp and pass it
on to the primary exchange server at corporate headquarters.

On top of that I was sending the messages to my home account so I could
verify backups on weekends and those messages stopped because my ISP's email
server could not verify the return address from blat so I had to make blat
fake the return address as something that could be verified on the corporate
network.

Hope this helps.

hello all- anyone use blat for notifications? if so, we are having an issue
receiving notifications and would appreciate some help. we have been using
blat for bootstrap notifications for about a year now. the command looks
like blat - -to <email address> -s "<networker server> bootstrap" -server
<email server name>. this command has been working, and i was receiving
notifications just fine, but when we changed email servers, both hardware
and software (was exchange 5.5/w2k sp4, now exchange 2k3/w2k3), the
notifications stopped. the only difference in the command is that i changed
the email server's name to reflect the new one; i tried using FQDN but this
did not help either. the only other change i can think of is that i upgraded
the networker server to 7.1.
info:
networker server: networker 7.1, w2k sp4 email server: networker 7.1, w2k3,
xchange 2k3

any ideas? thanx
