Good point. Since the 2 servers are in relative proximity, I will just keep the
deactivated clients on the old servers, available in case a restore is needed.
As their tapes/data expire, they will go away naturally...

If you can't migrate the tapes, wich keep the data of the clients, too, there
is no sense to "migrate" the clients index, just create them on the new server.
