Hi Chris,

I've "acquired" the same responsibility - however mine was due to changing
block sizes on our system, so I had to "scratch" the label from the tapes too.

Legato tech support recommended this method -

Load the tape without mounting it -- nsrjb -ln -f {device name} -S{slot
number}

Write an end of file to the tape -- mt -f {device name} weof

Check the media database for any index --  mminfo -avot {tape barcode label}

If needed, delete the entry from the index --  nsrmm -d {tape barcode label}

Label the tape with the Default label --  nsrjb -L -Y -S{slot number} -f
{device name} -v

Label the tape with a {Pool} label --  nsrjb -L -Y -S{slot number} -b {Pool
name} -f {device name} -v

However, I've frequently found I'd end up re-labeling some of the tapes via
the GUI, as the tapes are still thought of as full in the index for some
reason.

Hope this helps.

Have a great weekend!

Les

Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? It seems I
would need to relable the volumes but that did not
seem to set the all back to 0% used???

Thanks,
Chris
