Hi,

I know that we can use RMAN, and am not exactly sure why we don't use it
(budgetary constraints, no in-house experience - I'm not the DBA).

I actually did another test on another file that changed during backup
and found that Networker did in fact restore the file to the size I was
expecting.

The basis of my original question with the log file I recovered may have
been based on a wrong assumption.  The file may have been a lot smaller
than I thought in the first place.

Anyhow, thanks for giving me a definitive answer on this.
