[Networker] LTO2 minimum speed
2004-02-16 18:33:50
Does anyone on the list have any experience of under feeding LTO2 tape drives?
I've seen figures from IBM that say an LTO2 tape drive will slow from 35 MB/s
to 17.5 MB/s using
Digital Speed Matching. What happens if you feed it with significantly less
data than that?
I'd be interested to hear about any reliability problems with drives or tapes
that they think might
have been caused by backhitch operations. (I think that's IBM's term for shoe
shinning.)
