Does anyone on the list have any experience of under feeding LTO2 tape drives?
I've seen figures from IBM that say an LTO2 tape drive will slow from 35 MB/s 
to 17.5 MB/s using
Digital Speed Matching. What happens if you feed it with significantly less 
data than that?

I'd be interested to hear about any reliability problems with drives or tapes 
that they think might
have been caused by backhitch operations. (I think that's IBM's term for shoe 
shinning.)
