There are very inexpensive autochangers, spread out the data to more
than just one tape.  

Otherwise, going to another device, like a NAS box, could be what you
need.

How important is the data?  Your job, your company?

A bit risky, relying on one backup will make you cry if its not
resotrable when you need it.

Correct, all savesets need to recyclable for the tape to be recyclable,
there isn't a way of deleteing or overwriting selected savesets.
