Alternatively, you can dedicate a Tape Device to NDMP backups. Then you would
not need to purchase Dynamic Drive Sharing license and would not require any FC
adapters, switch or router.

I did this for a 6.13 server and a netapp R100 device. We had to
purchase dynamic drive sharing (1 license for each shared drive) and
NDMP client connection license from legato. We had to purchase FC
adapters for the filer and the networker host and a switch and router.

It works great. We had SANZ help us out.

I am considering using NDMP to backup our NAS devices with legato 7.1.1

is anyone using it?
it is easy to use and restore files?
what legato products do i need to buy to get started?

im backing up EMC, netapp and bluearc NAS devices.

thanks!
Evan
