True, but that appears to not be the problem here.  He would have seen a
file not executable error very early on, and the kernel would never have
loaded.

Instead since the error is about remounting the root filesystem, it's
probably due to the restored files referencing a SVM state database on
the initial machine that is not identical to the one on the restored
machine.

I would assume that the best course is to modify the /etc/system and
/etc/vfstab after the restoration so that no SVM references are
present.  Then after the system is booted, recreate the SVM database and
remirror the filesystems.

I don't know any way to "copy" the SVM database from one to another, so
recreating is probably the best way.
