If the indexes still exist, you can do a "nsrck -L7 -t 08/01/03 $clientname" on 
the master.  That would rebuild indexes as of 8/1 and would include your July 
'03 data as browsable.  If they don't exist any more (example, the tape 
containing the index was manually recycled and index for the date is lost), you 
can use the scanner command to rebuild the indexes from the tape containing the 
data to-be-recovered.  Just mount the tape and run "scanner $DevicePath".  You 
can limit with the "-S ssid" or "-c client" switches.....among others.

I am probably missing the obvious here but I am trying to do a restore from
July '03. For some reason the last date in my index for the server is
12/05/03 but the tapes are still showing under volumes with the status of
browse.

How do I restore in this situation?
