Hello, folks;

I'm working on a fresh Legato install (ver 7.1) on Linux RedHat AdvSrvr 2.1
with an HP MSL5000 w/4 x SDLT320's. Tapes labelled okay, but first
attempts at saving resulted in following error on all 4 drives almost
immediately:

media warning: TapeAlert flag "Interface error" has been posted
for /dev/nstX.
media warning: /dev/nstX writing: Invalid argument at file 2, record 3.

Now I have been assuming that we don't require an stinit.def entry for the
SuperDLT family of drives ?? Or does this error point to a lower level
problem with scsi driver or adapter settings? Or is this fallout from the
dreaded CDI interface?

Can anyone confirm whether or not an stinit.def entry is required in
similar environment?

Thanks,
C. Farnsworth
