I've got a script that is setting retentions on savesets according to

I'd like to put some clone tapes into the mix, but I want them to have a
different retention than the original copy. We have some clone tapes
that are used only for DR so they're short term, while the original
tapes may be stored offsite in a vault for later recovery.

Is there any way to allow a clone tape to become auto-recyclable after a
shorter period of time (say one month) than the copies on the original
volume (say one year)?

No this is not possible. The attributes for retention and browse time
are stored per save set, not per clone. It would be nice of the media DB
could be slightly redesigned to allow this, but that would be an RFE.
