Hallo Jones,

AFAIK, it could be caused by below possibilities:

* All drives are still busy at that time; so no devices can handle those
needed tape media at the moment. Wait until all backup tasks completed.
* If there is pending event(s) also, it means all media (tape/disk) that
related with that pool are full. If it is a tape media, check it with:
'nsrjb -Cv | grep NAS' --> NAS is the pool name.
or it was a file devices, see at device section on Networker GUI.

Hope this info useful. :D

Subject: [Networker] Waiting for I writable volume

I am running legato networker (6.1.2 build. 340 ) on a linux box to
backup data on a DLT7000 Tape attached to an Auspex NAS box via ndmp. I
recently upgraded the system from RH8 to 9 and started to get the
message below when I try do my backups.

"11/13/03 15:24:29 nsrd: media waiting event: Waiting for 1 writable
volumes to backup pool 'NAS' tape(s) or disk(s) on
auspex
11/13/03 15:39:29 nsrd: media critical event: Waiting for 1 writable
volumes to backup pool 'NAS' tape(s) or disk(s) on auspex
11/13/03 15:54:39 nsrd: media event cleared: Waiting for 1 writable
volumes to backup pool 'NAS' tape(s) or disk(s) on
auspex"

Can anyone tell me what's responsible for this ?

Regards,
Jones
