Hi everyone,
I have a backup server running Solstice 5.1 and Solaris 2.6. Recently, I
keep on encoutering the labeling problem. There is no problem to invetory
the tape at all, but whenever I try to label the tape, it gives me the
error message" Bad file Number". Then the server will start to check the
index on one of the backup client. After several times attempt, it gives
me another error "Read, Open I/O error". I have to recyle the power of the
autochanger and restart again. The strange thing is that I am still able
to label few tapes, one out of ten.

Does anyone knows why this happen and how to solve it?

The juke box we are using is cybernetics CY-TL8-2015 and the tapes are
sony SDX1-35C and Seagate STMA50G. This system has been run for years, and
/kernel/drv/st.conf file has never been modified.
Thanks so much for all your help!
