I have clients running a browse retention of 6 months and a retention
policy of 5 years.

If I were to change the clients polices to browse 6 months and retention 6
months today, would the backups previously backed up retain their original
polices of 6 months and 5 years retention?

What I want to do is keep all backups on tape with 5 years retention off
site and retain.  To change the retention today to 6 months, so that only
the backups running from today onwards have a 6 months retention so that I
can action recycling on these tapes only.

I will also change the tape pool name, so that I can easily identify the
those under the 6 months retention?

Any issues here?
