If each saveset backup looks complete (size looks right) but then repeats
itself ...this is exactly what happens when a firewall severs/timesout
the tcp control session for the backup...the client cannot then tell the
server it is finished. Something has timed out/severed this control
session for your backups.
On a firewall the value involved is the amount of time an inactive tcp
session will remain open.
If there is no firewall or other device on the network involved then I
would look for a similar value on the client or server. Of course, port
settings and duplexes on the switches should be reviewed.
