Hi,

this is not question but an observation and an advise:

We use Networker 6.1.2/Solaris 8 and an Exabyte 215M tape library with 2 tape
drives in 2 bays.
Tape drive in bay #1 became defective - I removed it and insertet a service
cover in the now empty bay.

The tape library itself continued to function well, but now came senseless
*Networker* error messages the like:

nsrjb: Jukebox error:  Thu 10:06:48 cannot find usable cleaning slot for drive
`/Dev/Jb1-2'.
nsrjb: Jukebox error:  Thu 10:06:59 The destination CTS is not installed

Reconfiguring jukebox with deleting missing drive did not help, but
finally solution found:

Move tape drive from bay #2 to bay #1 and all works well from then on!

I've not found any indication, that *Networker* does not like an empty 1st
tape drive bay (but 2nd one occupied) on a tape library.
