I have a w2k nbetworker server ( 6.0.1 ) with various clients
( solaris, aix, w2k, Nt4 ).
Now i have a new client of linux type ( suse SLES 8 ). I
install 6.1.3 software client on these clients and i found
that incremental backups are very big ( 5Go Versus 20Go for a
full backup ). Or this machine is used as a repository for rpm
files.
When i run find / -ctime ( or mtime ) on these file-systems no
file seems to have been created in the last day.
As the file system type is ext3 , i wonder if this is a
special feature for this filesystem type.

I'm fairly sure that ext3 filesystem is not supported at 6.1.3. Check
the compatibility guide to be really sure. Perhaps it's supported at
7.0? I build my Linux systems with ext2 filesystems.

You've also broken the rule of thumb of having the client version equal
to or lower than the server version. There are exceptions to the rule,
but you should only break the rule for a good reason. I suggest you
upgrade your server to 6.1.3.
