Well, i currently experience quite the same problems. I started
these days with setting up a cloning environment, based on one
NetWorker server (Davina :) and one storage node.

Currently the performance is bouncing between 200 KB/s and 3800
KB/s, and mostly running with less than 300 KB/s - though both
systems are connected via Gigabit ethernet and both on the same
switch and the same VLan and the same /24 network.
There are only 4 savesets with a summary of 6 GB selected to be
cloned, but it's running for about an hour now - and the remote
backup from another machine is faster than the internal cloning
session :-(

With kind regards,
