[Networker] scanner dies and creates 2GB nsrscan file

*************************************************************************
Greetings,
We are attempting to recover data from a tape using scanner:
scanner -S 1008852737 /dev/rmt/2ubn -x uasm -rv -i Y
scanner: scanning dlt7000 tape BK0350 on /dev/rmt/2ubn
scanner: continuation of data in nsrscan.1008852737.0005
scanner: ssid 1008852737: SYNCHRONIZED at 12 GB, 3975 file(s)
scanner: write failed, Bad file number
The scanner seems to hit a bad file on tape and then gives up.
It writes a 2GB file with a name like 'nsrscan.1008852737.0001'.
We are able to extract files from the nsrscan file with:
uasm -rv -i Y < nsrscan.1008852737.001
Is this a large file size issue in scanner?
If so does anyone know of a workaround?
Without a file index, how would one get the rest of the files from the tape?
Thanks for any help,
Drew.
