Hi Terry,

did you read my message ?

The problem does not involve Legato, it involves Microsoft only. If the System
does not record the change then the backup application, that means any backup
application, cannot detect the change. The suggestion to use the Change Journal
was the best until now but that will no do anything about share permissions.

Also, is is useless to make this an RFE, because (it this ever gets pasts first
level support) the changes do get backed up.
Every change to share permissions and the shares it self get backed up, if
configured correctly, with every backup.
I don't want to insult anybody, the statements that this is information is not
backed up must come from either inexperienced Windows NT/2000 administrators or
*nix administrators.

If you organise the transport (and pay for it, very important) I will send you
a case of beer if you can prove that share permissions and share definitions
are not backed up ;-) I will deliver the case to the Munich/Nuernberg office,
or will you come and pick it up yoursel ?

Bye
Ernie

Hi Kenneth

This would be a good RFE to submit to Legato, IMHO.
